Student Training and Awards Recognition Scheme

Nominations are now open for the STAR  Awards and it is an important for your club or society to showcase what it has done over the last year. The STARS Awards are a great opportunity for your society to be fully recognised and rewarded for its achievements, and its contributions it has made to LSESU as a whole. Clubs and Societies are a crucial part of the SU and it is about time that all your hard work and effort is rewarded.

If you haven’t heard about the STARS awards, don’t worry, it’s a relatively new scheme and you still have plenty of time to nominate your society.

STARS is a scheme aimed at rewarding and supporting clubs and societies in the fantastic work they do. It highlights the opportunities that the SU can provide for them as well as providing a system of
recognition.

To achieve the top levels you do not have to excel in, or even demonstrate everything.  An example for each of the criteria has been provided in the documents below but clubs/societies will be free to put in place anything that they think is suitable for the relevant criteria once a nomination form is submitted.

The scheme is not looking for societies/clubs to excel in every field as this would not be achievable. The awards will reward excellence in a specific field, but it is very important to note that this is also very much taken into account when clubs or societies are applying for the overall awards.

The Nomination forms are really simple and are designed so you highlight what your society has done and why it deserves the STARS Awards under certain categories.  These awards are prestigious and the winners will receive rewards.  There are three categories of awards; Bronze, Silver and Gold, and winning an award is a great opportunity to showcase just how great your club or society actually is.  Remember to put in all the information in your nomination form so we know all the great things you have done.

Follow this link for nomination forms  and remember that it is about showcasing what your societies achieve and how great they actually are.

Good luck and remember to include all the information.
