Third Years Intermingling with Postgraduate Students (TIPS)

TIPS is a Students' Union scheme that
provides cross-year co-mentoring. Masters & third-year students, matched by interests and experiences, can exchnage career advice, campus news, and anything else they might choose.
Why is this being done?
Surveys and talking to students show LSE students wish they had more academic support and better personal development whilst they are here. Student feedback from lasy year's trial said that they found the experience useful, novel & friendly.
What's the time commitment?
TIPS is based on respect and maturity. You'll schedule your own meet-ups (coffee, a pint, whatever) at least twice a month to keep the discussion flowing.
What are some more incentives?
- As you meet new people at the mixers, you'll get free pizza & beer
- You'll be part of a project displaying leadership, volunteering and mentoring for your CV
- Both co-mentors will receive personalised reference letters detailing their involvement
- You'll meet smoeone who might just become a valuable part of your future career network
