Beyond the Classroom SU Talks: What is the Third Sector and why should we care about it?

Thursday 21 January 2016
7pm - 9pm
6th Floor Studio, Saw Swee Hock Student Centre

Led by Education Officer Jon-Rhys Foster, SU Talks is a series of lectures that aim to explore 'alternative' career paths. Experts from different industries will explore topical issues within different sectors through panel discussion and debate.

In association with RAG (Raising and Giving) for the launch of RAG Week, this talk will ask: what is the Third Sector, and why should we care about it? We will ask our panelists to define the Third Sector, the careers that exist within it, and discuss the importance of the charity sector in wider society.

Guest speakers include:

  • Hollie Foster, Student Engagement Officer at Breast Cancer Now
  • Paul Nanson, Events and Marketing Officer at St Mungo's Broadway
  • Sarah Goddard, Community Fundraising Manager at Farm Africa
  • Katie Mond, Head of Recruitment at Frontline

Meet the speakers over drinks and nibbles following the talk.
