Thursday 03 May 2018
7am - 10pm

On May 3rd 2018, Local Council Elections will take place across the UK. It is important to vote in local elections because while your MP represents your constituency on a national level in the Houses of Parliament, your Local Council have significant powers over: housing, leisure facilities, parks and public places, libraries, social services, recycling and other issues.

Voting in an election is about deciding who will represent you, and will make decisions that affect you. This is your chance to vote for people and policies that you believe in.

  • You can vote if you are a British citizen, EU citizen or from a qualifying Commonwealth country and registered online before Apirl 17th.

  • If you are a British citizen you can vote at your home AND University address. You can apply for a postal or proxy vote to vote at the one you won’t be present at.
