We will be screening an Iranian tragicomedy, "Red Carpet", which premiered at the UK Iranian Film Festival recently (and comes personally recommended by individuals in the committee!).
"RED CARPET is a tragicomedy about a stage-struck, 3rd degree Iranian actor and playwright , who is madly fond of Steven Spielberg. So much so that he decides to go to Cannes Film Festival 2013 to meet Spielberg and ask him for help on how to become famous. In addition, he has written a comedy scenario for Woody Allen with the intention of showing his script to Woody Allen at the festival in order to gain international fame and recognition. However, this is his first trip abroad, he doesn’t know English and he doesn’t know anybody leading him to struggle to find a way to the red carpet..."
