Appeal
You have the right to appeal. If you wish to appeal against an academic decision, you should see the Education and Welfare Officer Alexandra Vincenti who will advise on the best course of action.
Amongst other things, it is possible to appeal against a particular grade or a decision concerning progression to the next year. If you feel that you have a case, it is important to see somebody as soon as possible, as there are set deadlines.

Please read these through to see if you have grounds to appeal. There are only limited grounds on which you can appeal at LSE. These are:
- If you believe that you have mitigating circumstances that have affected your performance, yet you did not state these at the time or prior to the exam. In your appeal letter, you will have to explain why you did not provide this evidence earlier.
- If you wish to ask for a recalculation of your mark. IMPORTANT: this is not a re-mark as you are NOT allowed to question the academic integrity of your examiners. Remember your exam papers will have been double blind marked. You will basically be asking for the school to double check that the marks that you got on each question, essay etc were added up correctly and that you were given the correct grade for that exam paper.
If you have any problems during exams, inform the undergraduate or graduate office straight away and please DO NOT wait until the results come out.
Representation
You have the right to representation. If you have disciplinary procedures brought against you by the School (and you will know when you do such as an accusation of plagiarism or cheating), the Education and Welfare Officer can represent you in front of the relevant committee if you wish, and can also assist you with your case.
