Generally, if your case involves complex legal issues, or you require representation we will refer you to an outside agency/solicitors.
There are various Law Centres across London, who provide free legal advice, and in certain circumstances will take up your case, write letters, attend court on your behalf etc.
To find the Law Centre nearest to you, call the Local Council switchboard or look in the Business Telephone Directory. The nearest law centre to LSE is the Central London Law Centre in Whitcomb Street (Tel. 020 7839 2998)
You could also try contacting your local Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB)

If you have bought something which is faulty, or generally have a problem with the quality of the goods that you have bought, or services which you paid for, you could start by calling your local council switchboard and asking to speak to the Consumer Rights Department or Trading Standards Department. They may be prepared to take your case and in certain cases bring legal action.
The Student Advice Centre can provide you with a booklet outlining you legal rights and remedies in disputes over goods.
If you have had problems with the police, discrimination, or employment rights you can get legal help from Liberty. They have a legal advice line on 0845 123 2307.You can also call Human Rights Watch (Tel. 020 7713 1995). For free legal advice on housing rights, call Shelter (Tel. 020 7505 2000). Most local councils also have a department dealing with private tenant's rights.
