Bankide is the largest LSE hall, hosting over 600 students. The sheer size of the place has its benefits. You are bound to meet like-minded people. However, some students feel that the community atmosphere found in some of the smaller halls is lacking. You can easily go a whole year without ever meeting the people living three floors below you.

Although three years ago the area around Bankside was decidedly dull, things are better now. You can enjoy living next door to the Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe and the Millennium Bridge. Bankside, in short, is now situated right in the middle of one of the city's most up and coming areas.
