If you are looking for a quieter year in a comfortable, reasonably priced hall, then GDS is the place to go. The hall is predominantly for postgraduate students.
As the hall is still relatively new, everything looks modern. Rooms have been arranged into blocks of flats surrounding a central courtyard, and all rooms are en suite. The hall also boasts one of the nicest bars around, serving pub food, and an onsite mini-market.
The big downer is the area, which is less than fantastic. However, the South Bank is close by, as is the Borough Market.
