Located right in the middle of the West End, straight underneath the BT Tower, Carr-Saunders is the smallest of the LSE halls and inspires a great loyalty to what, at first sight, can seem a fairly basic hall.
Not having the excesses of some of the other halls does mean that the rent is considerably lower than its newer counterparts. Its basic nature is however one of its greatest strengths - the cramped corridors lead to an extremely close community within the hall, and create a very homely feeling.
There's also a huge rooftop garden, which is very popular with summer sunseekers and people pretending to revise.
