High Holborn is one of the closest Halls to the LSE. This means you will not have to travel by tube or by bus to get to the university. This not only saves you money, but also valuable sleeping time! As it stands, you can set your alarm clock at 8.50 and still be on time for a 9 am lecture. Also, the short distance allows you to go back to your room between lectures, in order to have lunch, watch some television, listen to some music etc.

Living in the centre of London also has other merits. From Holborn, it only takes up to a 10 minute walk to get to nearly all of the famous spots of the city, such as Covent Garden, Oxford Street, the West End and the British Museum. Thus, filling your weekend with fun non-academic stuff isn't all too hard.

High Holborn is also close to other important services. Around the corner you can find the Oasis Sport Centre, which has its own gym and swimming pool. Also close to Holborn are several supermarkets, such as Sainsbury's and Tesco's. As High Holborn doesn't have a cantine, these permit you to cook your own meals (if you don't feel like having a pizza every night...). In addition, there are several churches, temples and mosques near the residential Hall.

However, all these advantages do carry a higher price tag. High Holborn is one of the most expensive Halls of residences. Besides that, the rooms tend to be smaller than those of other Halls. Nevertheless, given the fact that Holborn has only opened some 10 years ago, it has well working modern facilities, such as showers, toilets and kitchens. These you share with only 3 or 4 flatmates.

In conclusion: living at Holborn has a lot of advantages, but it does come at a higher price.
