The official television network of the LSE SU. We started out as a small society with a little handycam, officially launched in February 2005. Over the course of the following year we made a name for ourselves in the Union with a number of student programmes, including a short film on 'A Day in the Life of an LSE Student' that was shown at the School's open days, and in March 2006 we were voted into the LSE SU Media Group.
We're now based in E203 with PuLSE FM, and we make a regular amount of popular student programming.
Sign up to the LooSE TV mailing list by e-mailing loose.tv@lse... (the usual LSE suffix. The '...' is simply to avoid being targeted for spam).
See LooSETV:About for details of our Executive committee and Production Group.
Put simply, we make movies. A wide range of movies:
+ Documentaries about SU politics (see our popular ongoing UGM documentary The Old Theatre and a recent example of a one-off special - The Sutherland Protest)
+ Coverage of major visits to the School (see An interview with Peter Hain)
+ Coverage of society events (LSE STARHUNT 2005)
+ Short fiction films (X & Y).
This is not meant to be a comprehensive ambit for the Network by any means. We welcome all kinds of projects.
Our programmes can be viewed:
+ On this website as Quicktime video files for streaming and usually also download. As you're on the site right now, this is probably the easiest thing to do.
+ On campus: we have been exploring ways of showing our work at School, and this term we'll be showing work on the screens in the Tuns, and also on the projector in the Quad. Check your emails and this site for details of screening times.
+ On DVD: the best of LooSE's work from the 2005-06 academic year is available on DVD for £5. Check at SU reception or e-mail loose.tv. We can occasionally lend people a DVD of the work done over the most recent term on request.
