is a dynamic society aimed at celebrating Central European culture.
Our society aims to unite all LSE students interested in the geographic/historic region of Czech Republic and Slovakia (former Czechoslovakia) irrespective of their nationality. We help them to meet and keep connected with other people with similar interests within and outside of the LSE. We keep them informed about various related events in London and organize events by ourselves that would help to promote the unique character of anything labeled as “Czech” or “Slovak”. We especially try to raise the awareness of various past and current public affairs, cultural particularities, cuisine, art, mentality as well as other interesting features.
Thus, through the Czech & Slovak Society, we organize and promote events for our members which commonly include speaker lectures, embassy conferences, film and concert nights, Czech/Slovak food-tasting at traditional pubs/restaurants, visits of art exhibitions or sports events, trips and many others. Please, find the information about our current events at the Events page.
With 50+ members in its first year it has partners ranging from Embassies to renowned London societies. The society was also highly commended for its participation in the One World Ambassador Series.
