Democrats @ LSE is the main and only organisation for fighting the American far-right at your school. We are open to all students who are interested in U.S. politics; whether you are a US citizen or not, a registered voter or an abstainer, a Democrat or undeclared, providing you are concerned about the outcome of the pending ’08 election, this is the society for you!
D@LSE is officially endorsed by ‘Democrats Abroad’ (http://www.democratsabroad.org/) an official branch of the U.S. Democratic Party. Thanks to our affiliation, over the course of the next year we hope to offer our members firsthand invites to some of the top U.S. political events to come to London. There will also be opportunities for the real grass-root supporters amongst us to help DAUK in their drive to get out the ex-pat vote.
D@LSE will also be arranging a number of social events throughout the year which are in keeping with our American theme. We are planning to hold student debates centred on the lead-up to the primaries in February, and the election in November. We will also be offering outings to see some of the top political documentaries to hit a silver screen near us. In addition, we hope to be bringing you up to date careers information on how to break into the DC bubble, as well as the wider party or political arena.
The Students’ Union invites you to complete our annual survey. The results from this survey are vital to ensure that we provide the best possible service to you and incoming students in the future. All respondents to this survey may choose to be entered into a prize draw to win £150 or one of 5 special goodie bags!! The survey should not take more than 15 minutes to complete. Some questions are optional but please answer as many as possible.
