Societies are expected to use all means of advertising available in order to maximise students particpation and ensure the success of their events. The sooner you can start to advertise your event the better as it gives your members the chance to arrange their schedules and their finances around your event.

Societies must date their posters and display them on notice boards only. The Students' Union Executive reserves the right to remove society posters that are not dated. School staff may remove posters displayed anywhere other than the official notice boards.

You can photocopy posters, leaflets, tickets and flyers in the SU Copy Shop in E80. Remember to include the time, date, venue and price as well as the details of the event on all your publicity. Provided the funds are available in the society account the society treasurer may buy and charge a photocopy card at Alice’s office and pay by internal transfer (see the Finance Pack).

The School’s Reprographics Department will print posters, leaflets, tickets and flyers for you. To use this service you will first need to obtain a quote from the Reprographics Department and then the Society Treasurer must see Alice to complete and sign a Students’ Union order form. The society must give this order form to the Reprographics Department in Room A33. The School will then invoice the society via the Union.

The Union sends the Houghton Street Review to all students on Monday of each week during term time. To advertise your event in the global emails contact the Comms Officer at su.comms@lse.ac.uk by Thursday.

You can advertise the date, time and venue of your event in LSE News and Views, which is printed by the School weekly. Contact Tony Sym (extn. 7417, e-mail: Sym,T), before 17.00 on Monday for the following week's issue.

The SU newspaper, "The Beaver" is printed weekly. To advertise your events and meetings or place any information about your society on the Societies Page contact Carys Morgan, the Societies Officer at su.societies@lse.ac.uk. To place a half or full-page advert for a particular event, there is a charge which may be paid by internal transfer. Contact The Beaver directly on 020 7955 6705 or at thebeaver@lse.ac.uk for further details.

You may also type a message containing the details of your event, hand it to the UGM Chairperson at the beginning of Union General Meetings and ask for it to be read out.
