Society Table Hiring Rules and Information
The SU has a limited number of tables that can be hired by societies. To download the table hire form, please click here
To hire a table, please visit SU reception, or alternatively, please email su.adminassistant@lse.ac.uk with the following information: name of society, date/s and times requested for table hire.
Please note that tables are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Table hire is very popular; therefore we recommend you contact SU reception as early as possible to hire a table.
Table hire rules:
1. Tables may only be borrowed for use in, or to promote, SU events
2. The society will notify the SU of cancellations or amended hire times immediately
3. One member of the SU society will have responsibility for the table at all times. The person responsible for the table at a given time, will provide the requested details (including handing in their LSE ID to SU reception) and sign the attached form
4. Tables or other promotional materials may not be placed in front of fire exits. This includes lobbies, foyers, entrances and corridors, etc
5. Please also note that if a society or individual sells tickets on Houghton Street, they are trading illegally as the street is a public highway. The SU in no way condones the selling of tickets on Houghton Street. The police have the right to confiscate your goods and money and you are also liable to a fine of £100
If a society does not collect their hired table within the first 15 minutes of their specified hire time, their table booking will be cancelled and another society will be able to use the table instead.
Failure to adhere to these rules or to return table/s in their received condition will result in a £30 charge to the last individual responsible for the hired table. Persistent non-compliance may result in the society being derecognised.This will mean that the society’s budget is frozen and access to Union facilities and room booking facilities are withdrawn.
