With 7,000 applications for 3,600 places in halls, some students will have to consider other options for their living arrangements next year. There are alternatives to halls however.
The Accommodation Office is offering a waiting list for additional hall vacancies. Around 10 percent of those on the list will be selected randomly and offered rooms. To join the list, complete the form through LSEforYou. If you do not have your own login, please use Username : app, Password : app.
Successful students on the list will be contacted and students who have not been contacted by the beginning of September, or have decided not to join the list, should start making arrangements to find private accommodation.

The School's Housing Guide is a good place to start- www.lse.ac.uk/accommodation/HG/intro.htm
The LSE Accommodation Office runs two additional resources to help you in your search for private accommodation: * NetLetLSE is a web based system which can be found at [www.netletLSE.co.uk] . You will however need a Username and Password to ensure this is an LSE Student resource only; please contact theAccommodation Office
with your name and student number and they will be happy to provide one.
- We are currently operating a private housing service from a computer room (S075) in the basement of the St Clements Building. The office will offer a support service in your search for private housing each week day between 10:00am- 4:30pm. All enquiries relating to private accommodation will be directed here. All Halls of Residence queries will still be dealt with by the Accommodation Office in Tower Two.
A number of places have been reserved for students in the LSE residences for the six weeks before term starts, from 15th August. To reserve a place, please print out either of these booking forms:

And also at Rosebery Avenue (from £17.00 b&b per night) at http://www.lse.ac.uk/accommodation/Temp/sept_RA.htm
.
Complete the form and send it with a deposit of £50.00 (non-refundable) to High Holborn Residence or Rosebery Avenue Hall as required.

Other useful resources to check out include:
- The University of London Housing website. Very up to date, and all the landlords have been checked out fully by the University, and used by students before! [www.housing.lon.ac.uk/
- Black Katz and the Gumtree are also kept pretty up to date, and may be well worth a look.
