C & S is made up of seven voting members who are directly elected to the committee in a cross-campus ballot by the Single Transferable Vote system (STV).
There are also a number of non-voting members: the General Secretary, Communications Officer, Returning Officer and the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Union General Meeting (UGM).
A meeting of C&S is said to be quorate if four of the seven voting members are in attendance, otherwise it is not able to make binding decisions.
