Campaigns

Students have always been renowned as campaigners and as agents of change, and nowhere is that more the case than at the LSE SU - a truly campaigning Union.

The LSE Students' Union has a long and proud history of actively campaigning which date back from our occupation of University buildings in 1968 and continue today through our well known stance on green issues, fight against any further rises in home and international fees and against increased visa charges for International students.

Our campaigns vary from focusing on International issues like Darfur Divestment Campaign, war in Iraq, to focusing on National policy like fight against lifting the cap on top-up fees, Environment Campaigns, to Local issues which we at the LSESU care about and take an active stance on, these include campaigns like, the successful Living Wage campaign, 24 hour library opening, sexual health awareness campaign and healthy living campaign.

Right now we are campaigning on a number of fronts:

  • 24 hour library opening. for more info click here and sign the petition here.
  • Collective exam feedback and a more student friendly re-sit policy
  • Against increased Fees and Visa charges for International students
  • Together with NUS and Aldwych Group, fighting against lifting the cap on home tuition fees
  • Together with fellow Russell Group Institutions, lobby Universities to stop under spending their bursaries.
  • on behalf of London students together with ULU to extend the discounts to day and single travel tickets. for more info click here
