View Manifesto

Candidate for the position of Creative Network Chair

Vote Xiaoli; release LSE's creativity

I’m a 2nd year Economics Student with great enthusiasm for the Arts. Throughout my engagement with many Arts societies-particularly as a committee member of both photography and drama-I’ve come to realise that there is an immense volume of creativity within LSE. However, this is not being amply showcased.

The passion to change this has propelled me to run for Arts Network Chair. Here is my vision:

LSE Arts Festival:

  • Week-long celebration providing a platform for Arts societies to showcase their creativity around campus (exhibitions and performances)
  • Activities outside the SU (eg. Public mural)
  • Art Soirée

Network Development

  • Promote the Arts network Facebook page to increase public reach
  • Social events for members to establish closer relationships
  • Collaborations with Pulse and Flipside

Individual Societies’ Development

  • Promote Arts events on the Arts Network Facebook page
  • Improve efficiency of communications between Arts societies and SU
  • Greater support to smaller societies
  • Facilitate inter-society collaborations

Club & Society Endorsements

  • Anime and Manga Society
  • Athletics and running club
  • Tea society
  • Drama Society
  • Music Society
  • Bangla Society
  • Gaming Society
  • African Caribbean
  • Philosophy, Politics and Economics Society
  • Women's Rugby
  • Chess
