During this event we will discuss the little known issue of fuel smuggling in Africa and its consequences on local population. With this event we want to engage with a wider audience and explore the energy issues in different continents.
Film Screening of "Viva Riva!" a 2010 Congolese crime thriller film. The film follows a fuel smuggler, Riva, who is pursued by an Angolan gangster, Cesar, who wants his fuel back.
With this movie we want to reflect on the impact fossil fuels have on society as well as learn more about a reality that is very little known, especially in the Global North.
