Give It A Go
Give It A Go is all about exploring LSESU’s amazing, student-led sports clubs, societies and the media group societies. At the start of every term we give students (non-members) the chance to attend free taster sessions with some of our best clubs and societies to see what they’re really like without having to pay membership to join.
These different activities will fall under 5 different themes: Get Active, Learn A Skill, Relax and Socialise, Be Creative, and Share Your Culture, so you will get a flavour of what to expect from the Give It A Go session before you go!

SAW Venue - Basement of the Students’ Union building
The primary focus would be to introduce netball to girls who may come from an international background. We would introduce the rules of the game and briefly address the benefits of being involved in a sports club whilst at university. We would run through some drills which help to develop key skills e.g. passing and footwork and there would then be an opportunity for girls to play short game at the end. This is a model based on the way our ActiveLifestyle sessions are run on a Wednesday so it would also be a good insight into what it would be like to participate in those.
The event would also be open to girls who have played netball at school before, and it would be a chance for them to get to know the girls who are responsible for the running of the Club as well as an opportunity for them to refresh their skills after a break from the season before trials!
