Beyond the Classroom: Managing Conflict!

Information on the session & skill:

LSESU Beyond the Classroom is an employability training programme designed to provide you with the opportunity to develop, learn and grow.

Come along to this session for a practical, interactive workshop on managing conflict.

 

The session will be hosted by Shaun Harris, ‎Deputy Director at LSE Careers and Jo Taplin- Green, Reader Services Manager at LSE Library.

 

Both Jo and Shaun are qualified workplace mediators. This sessions is for anyone who may feel they could benefit from developing their communication skills and strategies for managing conflict.

 

In the session you will develop:

1. Practical strategies and effective behaviors for managing and transforming conflict

2. What your own personal conflict style is using the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument

3. Tips for the effective facilitation of meeting

The programme offers a series of free, skills-based workshops on topics such as Managing Conflict; Public Speaking; Sponsorship; Campaigns; Event Management; and Social Media. Last year the programme received an 88% satisfaction rate from attendees and we put on a number of brand new sessions such as First Aid; Sign Language; and Coding. Sessions have been delivered by leading charities and companies, such as EY, the ONE Campaign, Teach First, and experienced advisers from LSE Careers and LSE Students’ Union.
