Sofia, Bulgaria
Summary
From the makers of the Geography & Environment Winter Ball, we present to you...
SOFIA - 2018
This year, the Geography and Environment Society are hoping to launch our very own trip abroad. We have decided to take our members to Sofia, Bulgaria for an educational and cultural endeavour. Be prepared for one of the most adventurous, banterous and ridiculous Geography trips of your life.
Itinerary
The trip will be running in Reading Week from Thursday the 8th to Monday the 12th of November. We will be returning to Central London very early Monday moring. As well as experiencing the Bulgarian nightlife we plan to delve deep into Bulgarian culture and Sofia’s iconic history. The planned itinerary includes:
- Bar crawls and tours around the city
- Visiting the University of Sofia
- Venturing into the mountains to see the ancient monasteries
- Seeing the glorious seven lakes of Rila
- Experiencing Sofia’s way of life (public transport, food, infrastructure, markets)
Pricing
We are in the process of applying for funds from the LSE and the SU to subsidise/pay for activities whilst in Sofia. We have managed to bring the cost down to:
£159 - For G&E Society Members
This includes flights and accommodation. The subsidies from LSE would pay for the activities/day trips listed in the itinerary.
Deadlines
To pay for tickets - Tuesday 16th of October, midnight
The tight turnaround is to ensure air fares do not rise and we are able to book the cheapest flights.
Any questions message William Stein or Jesse Jialiang,
Lots of love,
Your Geography and Environment Society Committee
