Right, Christmas break is nearly over and it's time to once again get excited about the next AU event. Join us for a night of smooth-running logistics and short queue times as we kick off the new year with AU Welcome Party: the re-run! Say farewell to dry January and hello to the Venue’s sticky floors with a big old get together to start the term off as we mean to go on!
We won't be going to Zoo on the night and no fancy dress is required (unless the shame of your Carolling antics is still too much to handle).
You've had your refund so spend just half that (£4.50) on your ticket this Thursday... be sure not to miss out!

What do I need to bring?
- Your LSE student card
- You will need an event ticket either printed or on your phone
- You will need to bring ID, acceptable forms are: Passport (any country), any UK issued ID card with the PASS logo or an EU issued Driving License
We cannot accept photocopies or screen shots of the ID. You must bring the original.
International students –Important Info
- We generally cannot accept non UK/EU driving licenses as a form of ID due to different technology used within international licenses. Please make sure you have a backup (see what do I need to bring) to avoid any problems
What should I expect when I arrive?
We want to get you into the event and enjoying yourself as quickly as possible, but we do have to go through various checks to comply with our license. You may have to queue for up to 1 hour if everyone arrives at the same time.
- You will need to queue (within a barrier) in a system around the Saw Swee Hock building
- You will be moved forward into different zones in varying sized groups depending on how busy the front of the queue is.
- You will be asked to show your student ID and your ticket whilst in the queue.
- As you get nearer the front door, if you have a bag this will be searched.
- Everyone will go through a metal detector. If the detector goes off you will be asked to step aside, you will then have an additional pat down and a security wand will be passed over you.
- Finally your main ID will be scanned into an E-system and this can be a little slow.
You can expect our security team to be courteous and professional with a zero tolerance approach to drugs, evidence of excess alcohol consumption and any inappropriate behaviour at any point in the queue. You may see people being removed from the queue for these reasons.
If the queue gets very busy at any point you may find Security or the Venue Manager requests that entry procedures are slowed down to ensure everyone gets in safely. Our advice is to come as early as possible to avoid the queue and have your ticket and ID ready.
Feeling unwell in the queue?
If you feel unwell at any point please alert the Security team who will help you exit the queue and to a place where you can be assisted.
Extra Ticket?
If the event you are attending enables you to buy more than one ticket and if you have brought an extra ticket for a friend and they are arriving separately you will need to forward them the confirmation email you received.
No longer wish to attend?
We don’t refund tickets, but you can pass your ticket onto a friend as our system will log each barcode as entered
Unhappy with the event or wish to raise a query?
In the first instance please ask to speak to the Bar & Venue Management team who will do their best to resolve things on the night. Sometimes this is not possible. For any queries or comments afterwards please email su.info@lse.ac.uk
