One-off volunteering: Missing Maps

Volunteer with Missing Maps to help humanitarian organisations to meet the needs of vulnerable people

Thursday 14 November 2019
1pm - 3pm
LSE LIFE, Ground Floor, LSE Library, Houghton Street, WC2A2AE

Want to volunteer, but not sure what it's like? Scared you won't have the time commitment? Then a one-off volunteering session is perfect for you to get a taster of volunteering. The LSE Volunteer Centre would like to invite you to give your time to a great cause, make some new friends and learn a new skill!

Each year, disasters around the world kill nearly 100,000 and affect or displace 200 million people. Many of the places where these disasters occur are literally 'missing' from any map and first responders lack the information to make valuable decisions regarding relief efforts. Missing Maps is an open, collaborative project in which you can help to map areas where humanitarian organisations are trying to meet the needs of vulnerable people.

So bring your laptop to the event, and we'll start mapping missing information together. Bookings on CareerHub will be open closer to the event, so keep your eyes peeled!

If you can no longer attend

We appreciate that sometimes circumstances change and you’re no longer able to attend an event. In such cases we rely on you to cancel your booking no later than 24 hours before it starts. This allows your fellow students to book a slot and take your place.

How do I cancel?

It’s easy. You just need to log into CareerHub, view your dashboard and cancel the event. Please note if you fail to cancel or do not attend you will be marked absent. Frequent absences may result in you not being able to book future events online.

For more information please read our full Non-attendance policy on CareerHub.

Please contact us if you have any accessibility requirements to enable you to participate fully in the event.
