What is this about?
Founded by the American and British Red Cross, Medecins Sans Frontieres and the Humanitarian Open Street Map Team, the organisation "Missing Maps" gives an opportunities to volunteers from around the world to provide humanitarian aid workers with maps from places around the world that have not been properly mapped so far.
The help of volunteers is essential to digitally connect and map the most vulnerable places in the developing world so that local and international NGOs can use these maps and data to better respond to crises affecting these areas. Up to date maps are important for the success of many humanitarian organizations around the world in responding to disasters.

What are we going to do?
Through Missing Maps, we will volunteer your time to help create these maps, and have a real impact on the delivery of healthcare in the field!
Don't worry, if you've never done anything similar before, it's a simple process that will be explained by the committee members who will be at the event.

What do I need to bring?
Since the event will be held at an LSE class room, you'll only need to bring your laptop that can connect to the LSE Wi-Fi. If possible you could bring a mouse to make the mapping easier (though we'll make sure to provide mice for everyone).

PIZZA AND SOFT DRINKS will be provided for everyone during the event (make sure you confirm that you're coming so that we'll order enough of them).

You can find more information about the organisation on http://www.missingmaps.org/.
