It's time for social science to meet sailing! Are you curios about the role of social sciences in the management of and decision-making for our global seas and coastlines? Want to learn how to sail and explore remote parts of Scotland?

The LSESU Marine Society is running its first interdisciplinary sustainable sailing expedition in collaboration with Sail Britain. Join us onboard a sailing boat for a week (8-15th of June) to learn about, research and discuss plastic pollution on the British coastlines. No prior sailing experience is required and the trip is open to all and particularly to those for whom sailing would otherwise be inaccessible!

If you'd like to be part of a fun and innovative research experience onboard of a sailing vessel and learn how to sail under the directive of an experienced skipper and fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, come along to our info night to find out more!

We'll share our sailing route, introduce Oliver, talk about life onboard a sailing vessel, the research we will conduct about ocean plastics and answer all the questions you have!
