In Conversation with Helena Kennedy: 100 years of Women in Law

We are happy to announce our first event, a discussion with Baroness Helena Kennedy on 100 years of Women in Law. She is a very prestigious barrister and has spent 40 years pointing out the failures of the the UK justice system towards women.

Baroness Kennedy predominantly practices in the criminal law sector and has acted in many prominent cases within the last decade including the Brighton Bombing Trial, the Michael Bettany espionage trial, Guilford Four Appeal and a number of key domestic violence cases. She has been a prominent critic of the ways in which the justice system treats women. Baroness Kennedy has written the seminal books Eve Was Framed (1992) and Eve Was Shamed (2019) about how the British justice system discriminates against women.
