What to Expect on the Night

General Venue Information
Full Address: The Natural History Museum, Cromwell Rd, South Kensington, London SW7 5BD
- The Natural History Museum is a Grade 1 listed building and has no air conditioning. Guests should check the weather forecast and dress appropriately.
- The Natural History Museum security team will conduct a bag search as part of their security measures.
- The Natural History Museum operate a strict anti-drugs policy. Any guests found in possession of or under the influence of drugs will be asked to leave and the police may be called.
- No alcohol other than that supplied by KERB Events (the accredited catering vendor) is to be brought into The Natural History Museum.
- No smoking or vaping is permitted inside the Museum. Designated smoking/vaping areas will be signposted around the Gardens and at all entry/exit points using metal barriers to demark the areas.
- Any lost property found on the night will be brought back to the LSESU. Anything found after we leave will be sent to the lost property hub at The Natural History Museum and kept for 30 days. Please direct any queries to lostandfound@nhm.ac.uk.
- There is no parking available at the Natural History Museum. We recommend you use public transport, the closest tube stations are South Kensington and Gloucester Road.
- There will be loud music and flashing lights throughout the event.
What Time Should I Arrive?
Doors will open at 7.00pm but you can arrive from 6.30pm onwards to get through the queues quicker.
If you arrive between 7.30 and 8.00pm, your entry may delayed. So please make every effort to arrive early!
There's no reentry allowed, so please bring everything you need with you.
Last entry time to the Summer Ball is 9.30pm - no exceptions.
The Ball will finish at 12am. You may wish to pre-book your journey home to avoid the wait.
What Are The Entry Requirements?
You will need to bring your phone with your native QR code or ticket. Please also bring your student ID.
Upon arrival you will be asked to show your native ticket QR code for scanning, and your LSE ID card which must match the name on the ticket.
You can access the QR code on your confirmation email or via the native app.
We also recommend bringing a form of photographic ID, as proof of age will be checked at the bar.
Access to the Museum via entry gates will be advised in final reminder email.
Please drink responsibly before the event. Guests will be refused entry with no refund if they arrive intoxicated.
Can I Bring A Guest?
No. The Summer Ball is exclusively for current LSE Students.
No guests or plus ones.
Will Food & Drink Be Provided?
Your ticket package includes museum entry, two drinks token, and two food tokens to be used at any of the food/drink vendors.
There are many bars located throughout the Museum, where you can exchange your wristband tokens for beer, wine, soft drinks.
Additional drinks can be purchased via card payments (no cash payments).
Water fountains will be freely accessible throughout the event.
There will be a variety of food and drink options catering to different dietary requirements so please ask and check with different vendor before ordering.
Please note all food vendors are token only. You cannot buy additional food beyond your tokens.
Ingredients and allergens will be listed on food truck menus.
What is the Dress Code?
Summer glam!
Please be aware that stiletto heels are not allowed due to the historic flooring – your feet will thank us later!
Will There Be Cloakroom Facilities?
Yes, you will find cloakrooms on the ground floor as you enter the museum.
What If I Need Assistance?
There will be staff in branded LSE red tabards at all times around the Museum if you are lost or need assistance.
Please find a member of staff or the signposted first aid rooms if you require any medical assistance.
Will There Be Any Networking Opportunities?
This event is predominantly a party for you to enjoy with friends old and new!
You can however visit the Wildlife Photographer of the Year area.
This is our chillout zone, perfect for networking in a quiet space.
Why Are There Different Priced Tickets?
There are a limited number of tickets at each pricing interval. Book early to avoid disappointment.
Will There be a Photographer there?
Our professional photographers will be roaming all night long!
If you don't fancy being caputured just let them know.
We'll be sharing our favourite snaps after the event so look out for the link on socials.
