Physical Activity Supervisor (12 month fixed-term contract)

About the job

The LSE Students’ Union gym is seeking a Physical Activity Supervisor at an exciting time in the development of our sports and recreation programme as we continue to expand and align our student focused and income generating services into the new academic year.

As a Gym Supervisor you will be the main point of contact with our members and the face of the gym with additional responsibility for running the Active Lifestyle class programme. Candidates must have practical experience working within gym or leisure/ activity facilities, be customer service focused and have a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals and a better quality of life.

You will need to be REPs Level 2 qualified or higher.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Supervision of our members’ use of the gym floor.
  • Management of activity class programme and recruitment/ supervision of fitness instructors
  • Working with other Gym Supervisors and student staff members to run the day to day operations of the gym.
  • Providing member inductions, one to one and group training sessions.
  • Maintaining safe and healthy function of all equipment in the facility.
  • Conducting fitness classes.
