Health Society & Destin Stall, Houghton Street selling red beaded ribbons made by women living with HIV/AIDS in rural Togo for charity, Houghton Street
Monday 26th:
“Impact of HIV/Aids in the UK” 11 – 12pm in AGWR (Graham Wallis Room, 5th Floor of Old Building) by Rowan Harvey from the Terrence Higgins Trust
People & Planet Society film screening “Yesterday” and discussion 06.30pm S75
First-ever isiZulu feature film (with English subtitles) produced in South Africa in 2004 and tells the story of a young mother named Yesterday who falls ill and discovers that she is HIV positive. Snacks and refreshments provided
Tuesday 27th:
"Sexualisation and Sexual Health" - 7.30 - 9.30pm (D202) –
Panel discussion around pressures surrounding the sexualisation of women and men and its link to sexual health. Refreshments provided
Tuns Pub Quiz – 7.30PM, Simon and Gus present the 3 Tuns Quiz with a special sexual health round. Great prizes up for grabs including flights!!
Wednesday 28th:
Oxfam Society Campaign Stall – Houghton Street, All day
Signing students up for World Aids Day action cards to promote Health and Education for All
Test YOUR Team – 10am – 2pm, Houghton Street
Be part of a nationwide challenge and pick up your free Chlamydia testing kit from the Boots Stall and test your team! The kit is easy to use and can be sent off straightaway!
Dignitas society film showing ‘RENT’ the award-winning musical about living with HIV/Aids in New York 6:15pm, Z329
“Fun in the Tuns” in 3 Tuns, 7pm
Selection of games to promote Sexual Health Awareness…cucumbers and condoms, check it out
Thursday 29th:
S.H.A.G goody bag giveaways
Pick up your free Sexual Health And Guidance goody bags from the stall on Houghton Street
Form the Human Ribbon – Publicity PhotoShoot 12pm, Jon Watkins Plaza
Join Dignitas Society and form a ribbon of people in red and be photographed from above outside the library to show your solidarity against HIV/AIDS
Friday 30th:
People and Planet – World Aids Day Fundraising Auction 6-8pm Quad
Annual P&P auction of celebrity items! Come down to bid on a host of books, CDs, novelty items and 'experiences'... All money raised will go to the charity CrusAID.
S.H.A.G Crush with G.I Jonny– “Condom Happy Hour” 8 – 9pm.
G.I jonny’s will be out in full swing with sweets to boot, show your G.I condom to the bar staff for a £1 pint of beer or cider
