Executive Officers

 

The Executive are elected on an annual basis, and all of them are students when they are elected.

Sabbatical Officers 

These are students who campaign & represent students full time. They are paid and work for a year, from July 2011 to July 2012, on the issues you care about.

Sits on the most important committees of the School, working across the Executive to make sure every officer is able to campaign on the issues they are passionate about – and that the School is listening to students.

Chair of the Education Assembly, and responsible for leading the student voice on academic affairs, such as teaching quality, feedback, the lack of resits, broader teaching and learning developments and putting LSE students at the heart of national education issues.

With students wanting to change the wider world, this Officer will chair the Welfare and Community Assembly, take a lead role in coordinating accommodation issues, a greener society, a ethically responsible School, healthy living, student support,  widening participation and a diverse student population.

Overall responsibility for developing societies, Athletics’ Union, Media Group, RAG and volunteering, and working with students to achieve a fun LSE! As the chair of the Activities Assembly, also has responsibility for developing a student network of volunteers and campaigning activists.

With over half of LSE students studying graduate courses, the Postgraduate Officer is elected during each Michaelmas Term to liaise with staff across the School with responsibility for graduate students - and they make sure the Union is representative of all of our members.
