On #Jan25, the LSE MENA Society is hosting a panel discussion on the Egyptian revolution and its aftermath, exactly five years on from the start of the country's historic uprising. The speakers are:

*Jack Shenker - award-wining journalist, former Egypt correspondent for The Guardian and author of 'The Egyptians: A Radical Story'
*Zeyad Salem - Egyptian activist and co-founder of the Alexandria branch of the 'No Military Trials for Civilians' group
*Nadine Marroushi - Amnesty campaigner in the MENA programme, former Cairo-based journalist
*Dr. Omar Ashour - Egyptian-Canadian academic, Associate Fellow at Chatham House's MENA programme and senior lecturer in Security Studies at the University of Exeter

The talk will cover a range of topics, including the ongoing crackdown on political dissidents and activists, civil society and revolutionary politics in Egypt, and prospects for future political change. There will also be a Q&A with the audience. The event will be chaired by
Filippo Dionigi, Fellow at the LSE Middle East Center.

The event is free and open to the entire public, however attendees will need to have a ticket which you can acquire on this page. Non-LSE students will have to create a guest account.
