Social Science, Ethics & Methodology

SSEM has been founded in order to foster a more inclusive discussion on campus about methodologies and the role of ethics in the social sciences. It seeks to allow members to discuss and challenge ideas that may not traditionally be debated as part of our social scientific courses at LSE. This involves critically assessing accepted practices, considering alternative approaches and examining the role of ethics.

This society forms part of a wider student movement to critically assess mainstream methodology within the social sciences, and in particular, economics. The society ultimately hopes to nurture a more inclusive and pluralistic understanding of the social sciences.
