LSESU Human Rights Protection Fund is formally affiliated with the UK Charity, Human Rights Protection Fund. Join us in fundraising and supporting prisoners of conscience and human rights defenders.
The mission of the LSESU Human Rights Protection Fund Society is to support the Human Rights Protection Fund (HRPF) in its work of providing financial assistance to prisoners of conscience worldwide. We seek to mobilise students at the London School of Economics and Political Science through structured fundraising initiatives and awareness-raising activities that align with HRPF’s objectives and values.
As a university society, we will remain institutionally independent while working as closely as possible with HRPF. We recognise that HRPF’s primary purpose is to provide financial assistance to prisoners of conscience. Accordingly, the Society’s principal objective will be to support HRPF by raising funds in a transparent, responsible, and sustainable manner.
The Society’s secondary objective is to promote awareness of HRPF’s work and of the concept of prisoners of conscience more generally. While fundraising activities will inherently contribute to this goal, we also intend to organise dedicated awareness and campaign events aimed at educating students and encouraging informed engagement with human rights issues.
