The Open Source Society is a space at the intersection of art and technology, for hands on learning ranging from new media digital art to physical art.
The concept of Open Source refers to software that is available with its source code, so that users can modify, study, and distribute it; we will apply this same philosophy to the art forms and methods we explore. We will host workshops for creative coworking, in the tradition of the homebrew computer club, where programmers convened together in groups to share computational knowledge. All of the art we teach and learn about will be broken down so that students can continue to reproduce the free distribution of knowledge - coding is not required and we will not be limited to just the realm of software development, but more so explore how art and technology can intersect.
