How do you build a globally recognised visual identity for an artist? These campaigns define how culture is experienced, transforming creative ideas into visuals that connect audiences with an artist’s world.

Creative Director Phil Lee brings a uniquely grounded perspective to this process. Having studied graphic design at Nottingham Trent University, Phil’s journey began almost by chance when he stepped into XL Recordings’ art department days before graduating, just as The Prodigy’s *The Fat of the Land* was being released. Thrown straight into the deep end of one of the most dynamic eras in British music, he quickly developed a passion for translating sound and identity into striking visual storytelling.

In Blueprints of a Brand, Phil will share how that early hands-on experience shaped his approach to creative direction, campaign building, and visual storytelling. From pitching and collaborating with artists to crafting campaigns that resonate globally, he’ll explore how creative teams reconcile vision with commercial strategy, and how cultural and market forces influence creative decision-making.

Phil’s recent projects include the Oasis reunion announcement film, and campaign creative direction and video commissions for Adele – 30, Stormzy – This Is What I Mean, Placebo – Never Let Me Go, Georgia – Euphoric, Kojey Radical – Reason To Smile, Royal Blood – Typhoons, and Kano – Hoodie’s All Summer. His work also spans brand and live collaborations with Beats by Dre, James Bay, Sleaford Mods, and Roger Federer for On Running.

His mastery of creative leadership has earned him recognition as Best Commissioner at the UKMVAs (2016), one of Creative Review’s Top 50 Creative Leaders (2017), and a Grammy nomination in 2023.

Whether you’re passionate about marketing, branding, music business, or creative strategy, this session offers a rare opportunity to learn how powerful visual worlds are conceived, built, and brought to life.
