Following on from the previous update provided and ahead of the emergency discussion on divestment that will be held at the Town Hall this Friday, the SU is sharing another important development in the ESG Review and the campaign for divestment.
LSESU has been working with the Consultative Group to allow students to access the working papers they developed throughout the ESG Review, and are delighted to be able to share them with you today.
These papers provide critical insight into the work of the Consultative Group, including their proposals for the integration of human rights and international law into LSE’s investment policy. The papers – which are linked below – also allow students to better understand the ESG Review by allowing access to a report on the written submissions created by many members of the LSE community, and the notes from the public events that we detailed in our last update.
The SU will continue to support student campaigners to push for meaningful divestment as part of this ESG Review. The publication of these working papers is critical to understanding how the calls for divestment and the inclusion of human rights have been genuinely considered or foreclosed by LSE throughout this process.
The Town Hall on Friday will see three members of the Consultative Group, alongside student campaigners, that will have the opportunity to speak on the papers and discuss the Group’s experience of the ESG Review.
Please join us on Friday 30th May, 2 – 4pm, 6th Floor SAW.
