About us

The LSESU Middle Eastern and North African society is for both students who have a heritage in the region and students who have an interest in the region. We are therefore dedicated to uniting the Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) student population, and non-MENA students alike to educate, inspire, and celebrate the diversely rich cultures of MENA countries.

LSESU MENA aims to create a platform of cultural exchange, social networking, as well as relevant educational and professional opportunities for all students in our society.

We will run both social events such as games nights, dinners, collabs with other societies, and with other universities, which will allow you to both socialise and network and make new friends!

We also run events such as talks, panels, fundraisers, and discussion rounds on political, cultural, and business-related issues in the region. This year we will have a particularly strong focus on fundraising for countries that are in need of humanitarian assistance such as Yemen, Syria, and Palestine.

MENA stands with all issues around the world and wants to focus on issues that intersect with other societies, such as actively supporting the Black Lives Matter Movement.
