Department Sport at LSE offers free, inclusive recreational activities run by the Students’ Union in partnership with Departments. From football and badminton to yoga and self-defence, there’s something for everyone. Sport sessions are led by friendly student Sport Facilitators, while wellbeing sessions are delivered by qualified instructors. Designed to be welcoming and beginner-friendly, these activities are a great way to get active, meet others, and boost your wellbeing.
What is department sport?
At LSE, all recreational sport is delivered through the Students’ Union in partnership with Departments. Each Department can offer free sport and wellbeing activities for their students, ranging from football and badminton to yoga and self-defence.
Sport sessions are led by student Sport Facilitators—friendly, approachable peers who help organise activities and ensure everyone feels welcome. If you’re new or have a question, just look out for the LSESU shirts—they’re there to support you.
Wellbeing sessions are delivered by qualified instructors who design safe, beginner-friendly activities suitable for all students.
There’s never been a better time to get active and involved—find a session and join in today!
