Overview
At LSE, we recognise that many of our students are also elite athletes, balancing demanding training and competition schedules alongside their academic studies. We are committed to better understanding and supporting the unique challenges faced by these students.
During the opening weeks of the 2025–26 Autumn Term, we will be running consultation sessions to identify the specific needs of our elite athlete community. These conversations will help shape the support, resources, and opportunities we can provide to ensure athletes can thrive both academically and in their sporting careers.
If you are an elite athlete — competing at a semi-professional level or higher, or having represented your nation at U17 level or above — we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with Dan Smith (Physical Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator) at d.smith15@lse.ac.uk to share your experiences and ideas.
Elite Sport Meet & Greet
Are you an elite athlete studying at LSE? Join us for our first Elite Sport Meet & Greet of the year — a chance to connect with fellow athletes, share your experiences, and let us know what support you’d like while balancing sport and study.
This informal session is designed to help us understand your needs and shape future support and opportunities. Plus, there will be refreshments provided!
Date: Thursday 2 October 2025
Time: 11:30am – 1:00pm
Location: Saw Swee Hock Student Centre, 3rd Floor Meeting Room
For more information, please contact Dan Smith (d.smith15@lse.ac.uk) or Henry Levell (su.sport@lse.ac.uk).
