Community Support Hub

At LSESU, we know that university is challenging for a number of reasons. These can range from struggling as you move away from home for the first time, to being unsure about the new level of academia you’re a part of, to figuring out how to work part-time alongside your studies. We know that these issues impact all of our students.

We are aware that marginalised people may struggle more during their time at LSE, so we have created these pages to highlight support that may be particularly relevant for LGBTQ+ students, students from ethnically diverse backgrounds, disabled students, international students, student carers, working class students, and students of faith.

Disabled Students Institutional support for disabled and neurodiverse students at LSE is very broad and comprehensive, but can be difficult to find! This page should help you figure out where to start navigating LSE’s structures and where to come to find advocates if you need them.
Ethnic Minority Students We have a long history of supporting Ethnic Minority students at LSE, from a career mentoring scheme to creating a tailored welcome guide for Black students. Find out how you can get involved with our work on this page!
International Students International students are the beating heart of LSE! We have no shortage of national societies for you to find your home away from home, and loads of support for you when you need it.
LGBTQ+ Students The LGBTQ+ community at LSE is vibrant and widespread- from engaging with the student society to the staff network, there are loads of ways to find your chosen family!
Student Carers We’re super excited to be launching our first ever Carer’s Union- you can find more info about them on this page. Our support for student carers is growing year on year, so please reach out to us and let us know what we can do for you!
