Open to people of all faiths and belief systems, the LSESU Buddhist Society offers a welcoming space to pause, reflect, and feel at home — or, in Buddhist terms, to find Refuge. We seek to cultivate a sense of belonging while easing the stresses and dissatisfactions of student life.

Our society hosts weekly meditation sessions and philosophical discussions inspired by the teachings of the Buddha. Meditation sessions are beginner-friendly, with experienced student committee members on hand to offer guidance and support. Our philosophical discussions are led by a PhD student specialising in Buddhist philosophy, providing a stimulating space for thoughtful debate and shared learning.

Whether you are a practising Buddhist hoping to connect with a wider community in London, or a curious thinker interested in meaningful conversations and contemplative practice, we warmly welcome you to join us. Our society is committed to create an inclusive platform where all schools of thought within Buddhism and other religions alike can have equal opportunity and voice. Members can also look forward to larger-scale events organised in collaboration with universities across London and the UK, including talks by practitioners and full-day meditation retreats.

Your support would be greatly appreciated, so we can plan more initiatives and create richer opportunities for reflection and learning for all.
