LSESU Advisory Group: Two disciplines, one advisory practice.

The LSESU Advisory Group is an advisory society at the London School of Economics, operating two branches: Investment Banking and Geopolitical Strategy. We deliver an analyst training programme, produce written advisory deliverables, and host events with figures from industry and policy. Founded in 2025; admitted to the LSESU in 2026. Committee members have interned at Goldman Sachs, Rothschild, Lazard, Evercore, and RBC.

About Us
We were established to give LSE students substantive exposure to advisory work across two of its most consequential domains (finance and geopolitics) through a model that prioritises depth of engagement over scale. As such, our structure is deliberately lean. Members are recruited through a selective application process each Autumn Term and contribute to one of our two branches as analysts, supported by senior members and external partners.
We aim to produce work and run events that are useful, rigorous, and reflective of how the industries we cover actually operate.

Our Branches
Investment Banking
The IBD branch focuses on the technical and commercial fundamentals of corporate finance. Analysts complete a structured training programme covering valuation, financial modelling, transaction structuring, and pitch development, and contribute to written deliverables on live sectors and target companies. The branch hosts events with practitioners from bulge bracket, elite boutique, and advisory firms.

Geopolitical Strategy
The Geopolitical Strategy branch examines the intersection of international affairs, policy, and commercial decision-making. Analysts produce written research on themes ranging from sovereign risk and trade policy to defence and energy security, and the branch hosts events with figures from government, diplomacy, and policy advisory.
