Indian Classical Performing Arts

Welcome to the Indian Classical Performing Arts Society!

We are LSESU's first ever society dedicated to the practice, performance and celebration of Indian classical music and dance. Our society brings together people interested in Carnatic and Hindustani vocal and instrumental music, alongside classical dance forms including but not limited to Bharatnatyam and Kathak. Whether you have trained for years or are simply curious about these art forms, you are welcome here.

Our planned activities for the year:

• Jam sessions: informal, collaborative sessions where members can practise, improvise and make music together
• Workshops: skill-building sessions led by experienced members or invited professional artists
• Showcases: termly/annual performances giving members a platform to share their art with the wider LSE community
• Masterclasses: occasional sessions with professional artists from outside LSE
