We bring together students to explore London's culinary world: its history, culture and stories of each respective culture. Through restaurant outings we offer unique discounts and subsidised meals!
Melting Pot is a society focusing on using food as a starting point for students to culturally explore, build communities, and develop their cultural education. This is done through biweekly food outings as we believe that food provides an opportunity to explore stories of history, diaspora, and tradition. Throughout the academic year, we organise biweekly food outings to a range of restaurants across London, particularly honing in on small, independent businesses, which we also aim to support through social media exposure.
These experiences go beyond simply trying new food but act as an opportunity for our members to be introduced to new cultural contexts, creating key moments for discussion. Alongside our regular outings, we aim to curate collaborative events with cultural societies to help build cross-society connections and friendships whilst exploring and celebrating London's diversity. Our aim is to make food and cultural exploration accessible and inclusive for all LSE students, and Melting Pot is a welcoming space to connect and learn.
