Private credit. LSE's primary gateway to the fastest-growing asset class in modern finance.
What is Private Credit?:
Private credit is when funds - like Ares, Apollo, and HPS - lend directly to companies instead of banks or public markets doing it. It has grown from a niche corner of finance into a $2 trillion asset class powerhouse that continues to grow.
Explaining this in greater detail is one of our main goals as a Society.
Who We Are:
As an asset class that has grown exponentially, we are the flagship LSE society bridging the potential of students to this unmatched expansion.
The LSESU Private Credit Society was founded because the opportunity in this space is too significant to ignore, and capitalising on this opportunity at such a crucial time is imperative.
Whether you are deep into the recruiting journey or just starting to figure out where you want to end up, this is a space worth fundamentally understanding. Our aim is to actively engage LSE students within this asset class, learning with a distinct top-down bottom-up approach and equipping you with everything you need to navigate and succeed in private credit.
What We Do:
Education - A selective bootcamp covering credit research, financial modelling, deal structuring and more , drawing on real industry experience to give you necessary technical skills that matter when you're in the driving seat.
Access - Speaker events and panels with industry professionals spanning direct lending, alternative credit, special situations, and distressed. Real and personalised conversations and elite mentorship.
Careers - Recruiting guidance, CV and interview support, and connections to funds and asset managers who are actively head-hunting from LSE's talent pool.
