ABOUT US
Welcome to the LSESU Gujarati Society!
Gujarati culture is full of vibrant traditions, colourful celebrations, incredible food, music, dance, and a strong sense of community. The LSESU Gujarati Society aims to bring these traditions to life at LSE, creating a welcoming space where students can celebrate their Gujarati heritage, connect over shared experiences, and discover new aspects of Gujarati culture.
Whether you grew up celebrating Navratri, look forward to Gujarati food and family gatherings, want to learn more about the Gujarati language and traditions, or are simply curious to experience a new culture, there is a place for you here! Our society is open to all LSE students, regardless of background, and we want everyone to feel welcome getting involved, meeting new people, and celebrating together.
For students with a Gujarati background, we hope to create a sense of home away from home: a place to share familiar traditions, reminisce about celebrations, and connect with others who understand the cultural experiences that have shaped them. For those discovering Gujarati culture for the first time, we want to offer an opportunity to experience its traditions, festivities, and community spirit in a fun and inclusive environment.
Above all, our aim is to bring people together through shared traditions, new experiences, lasting friendships, and, of course, plenty of good Gujarati food!
