The Colombian community at The London School of Economics is composed by around 100 students. The LSESU Colombian Society, with more than 50 members, was established in 1999. Year by year, it seeks to promote Colombian development through the debate of key issues of the country and its culture in the United Kingdom. Additionally, the society aims to strengthen ties between Colombia and the United Kingdom.
In the last years the Colombian Society has become notorious for having the most known Latin party at LSE: The LSESU Annual Colombianl Party and its most important academic event: The Colombian Symposium. The Colombian Society arranged several academic panels and events with relevant public policy and business leaders and organise networking events with LSE Colombian alumni working in London. In addition, the Society undertook different social events to integrate students as a community. The Society gathers together the Colombian students to create a community that supports every member in general or particular issues
We invite you to join this vibrant Society where you will find a place to make new friends, know the Colombian community at LSE and London, engage in important debates for the future of Colombia and Latin America, and be part of the cheerfulness that characterize Colombian Society.
We welcome not only Colombian students, also students from all nationalities that want to know more about the country and the region.
As member of the Colombian Society you will be able to run for one of the staff positions that lead the society. Moreover, you will have priority access to networking and academic events with limited capacity, and you will enjoy discounts on the events arranged by the society that require a fee, like the Annual LSE Colombian Party.
